The German industrial designer known as Dieter Rams is responsible for creating the designs for multiple consumer products. Some of his most recognizable work is the design of Braun’s consumer products. Rams has come up with a list of 10 design commandments that designers should use as guidelines, and I will be seeing if the Sony Corporation website follows those guidelines. The reason these guidelines are important to follow is because at the end of the day, you goal is to design a product that is innovative, useful, aesthetic, understandable, unobtrusive, honest, long-lasting, thorough down to the last detail, environmentally friendly, and involves as little design as possible. Sony seems to do well at this. They make unique and useful products like high quality cameras and game consoles. And the game consoles can last for a couple decades. For their cameras, they sell these bags with very specific pockets to keep equipment organized and out of the way. And owning a pair of their headphones or speakers puts you in your own cool little group of people that own them too.
